I'm at a place right now where everything is a No.
I don't like the things I'm working on, I'm not enjoying myself and it feels like this is going to be my lot in life. Yet, when I looked back at what successful people have said they were doing in the beginning I noticed that this part of the journey isn't just mine. It's something that every successful person has gone through and is still going through. It doesn't matter if it's a writer, an entrepreneur or a musician - there is no avoiding this part. I am watching and listening to successful people talk about this part of their journey and I have to say it is just as grueling to listen to as it is to go through it. There is no avoiding this part of the journey. Now that we know that, what do we do in the meantime?
What's important is that we don't give up.
We keep working, keep trying and keep pushing through until the day comes when we no longer feel like this. And the most important thing to remember is that it won't happen overnight.
It took those who are successful, years of hard work before they could start enjoying what they were doing again and even then, there were still days where they feel like nothing is going right. It's a rollercoaster of emotions, but it's worth it. It's all worth it in the end when you can see your hard work starting to pay off and you start making money from what you're doing. But what you have to remember is that it is possible to get out of this slump and one day, you will wake up wondering why you ever felt like this in the first place.
You may not be able to see it now but there will come a time when all of your hard work will pay off and things will start falling into place for you. When you're in a slump, it can seem like nothing is happening. You're not making any money and things just seem to be getting worse and worse for you. It's hard not to feel depressed about this and think that maybe you should give up on what you're doing altogether. You just have to keep going and try not to let your emotions get the best of you.
If you feel like giving up, take a step back
Take some time off from whatever it is that you’re doing. Take a break from writing or designing or whatever it is that makes up your job. Take some time to relax and think about what you want from your life. When you come back to it, you'll feel refreshed and ready to go again. When this happens, don't beat yourself up over it. It's okay to take a break from what you're doing; it doesn't mean that it's not worth anything or that anyone will think less of you if they find out that you need time off. Don't get me wrong, it's not easy to take a break from something that you love doing. I've spent most of my life working on projects and trying to accomplish things around the house. I've always been the type of person who wants to be busy all the time; however, what has happened over the last few years is that I've really learned how important it is to step back and let go of some things so they can come together on their own when they're ready.
The emotional trauma of being in your "no" season is real!
It's hard to accept that you're not where you want to be in life right now, but it's also important to remember that this is a normal part of the journey and many other people are going through the same thing. It's normal to feel frustrated and angry that you're not getting what you want. It's also okay to feel sad about it because sometimes those emotions are just a part of life that we have to go through. But what I've found is that if we can sit with those feelings without trying to escape or avoid them, they don't last as long. They fade away eventually, leaving behind only peace and clarity.
I know it can be hard to sit with those feelings, especially when it seems like the world is telling you that you need to do something about them. But what I've learned is that by allowing ourselves to feel everything without judgment, we become stronger and more resilient. We can't expect our lives to change overnight; they won't. But if we're willing to stay present with our emotions, they'll eventually come around. And that's the path to freedom. When you're feeling stuck, frustrated, or angry, it can help to remember that it's normal and expected. You're not alone in this struggle so don't beat yourself up about it! Instead of trying to push through those feelings with willpower or force, let them be there and just breathe with them for a while.
The key is to remember that these feelings are not permanent. They will pass, and a new day will dawn.
